Foundational Years Program (FYP)

FYP Curriculum 

At MEGA, FYP curriculum design is based on the philosophy of NEP 2020. The Foundational Stage refers to children in the age group of 3 to 8 years (Nursery to Grade 2). This is the first Stage in the 5+3+3+4 Curricular and Pedagogical restructuring of School Education as envisioned in NEP 2020.

 

The framework for FYP focuses on developing children as inquirers through a play-based learning environment.  We believe that our early years students should be in an environment where they can develop academically, socially and emotionally. 

At MEGA International School, we have developed our pedagogical approach, bringing together the best practices from various methods that include the trans-disciplinary approach of the IB PYP methodology, always based on education for values and affection.

 

It is our priority to create a personalized environment for our children and their families, in a perspective of acceptance and respect for the individual development of each child. We ensure holistic education by integrating new-age technologies. Along with world-class academics, we focus on co-curricular activities, sports education and life skills in a very systematic way.

In FYP we have an integrated curriculum which is framed with experiential pedagogy. We follow the multiple intelligence methodology, Montessori approach and theme-based integrated curriculum.

The setup is carefully designed and resourced to enrich learning opportunities and to allow students to explore their surroundings and become passionate about discovering new information and ideas. Our students are constantly encouraged to be independent in their thinking, express themselves and their opinions confidently, become problem solvers and work collaboratively with each other.

 

They get the opportunities to wonder, question, and work as a team, experiment and play. They are given choices and freedom to express their creativity, to think and develop problem-solving skills, critical thinking, creativity, independent thinking, leadership qualities etc.

PYP Curriculum 

Our Primary Years Program (PYP) caters from grade 3 to grade 5 students. With a unique integration of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and the International Baccalaureate (IB) Methodology, we offer a holistic learning experience that nurtures young minds and fosters global citizens.

The fusion of CBSE and IB Methodology allows us to provide a comprehensive educational foundation that blends the best of both worlds. Our students not only excel academically but also develop a strong sense of values, a global perspective, and a love for learning that extends beyond the classroom. Moreover, our commitment to the 'happiness quotient' is a unique feature of our school.

Middle and High School Program (MSP & HSP)

MSP & HSP Curriculum 

At MEGA, the Curriculum is internationally benchmarked with high-performing world curricula strengthened by local and global dimensions, empowering students to develop knowledge, skills, competencies, values, attitudes and dispositions that promote collective social responsibility, sustainable development and world well-being, reflecting global citizenship.  

 

Through experiential learning and personality skills, the pedagogy aims to strengthen the abilities, capabilities, and expertise of the children in a comprehensive and holistic approach to ensure the all-round development of the students. Students are provided multiple opportunities to develop their communication, creativity, knowledge, and organization skills.

 

With the seamless integration of interdisciplinary learning, students are equipped with transferable skills and competencies required for the jobs and challenges of the future. Student learning in Science and Math is scaffolded through the usage of Labs and instructional material designed to promote higher-order thinking. 

 

The progress of individual children is monitored by periodic assessment, maintenance of notebooks, and regular submission checks. Discipline of students is also assessed based on attendance, behaviour, and regular checking of assignments and homework. The assessment strategy uses a combination of continuous assessment of skills and understanding in the classroom along with more structured assessments through scheduled tests and examinations.

 

Strategies and additional support that are aimed at strengthening the skills and knowledge of our students are provided by the faculty. The focus of learning is to promote Mastery Learning of concepts so that all students perform to and beyond their potential taking responsibility for their own learning. Through a combination of activities that are both individual and collaborative an appreciation for learning is built that transcends subject boundaries. 

Senior Secondary School (SSS)

SSS Curriculum 

We are offering many subject combinations under medical, non-medical, commerce and humanities streams. We do offer integrated coaching for Grade-11 and Grade-12 for NEET and IIT-JEE.
